Showing Kids The New School Way of Doing Laundry – FREE Printable

Teach Kids to do the Laundry: Sponsored by Gain available at Walmart.

Here in Arkansas, school lets out in a few weeks. (HOW is that possible, right!?) During the school year I do K’s laundry, which is about to multiply dramatically as we take on full-time RVing, camping, traveling and all the other summer activities we enjoy. Now that she’s eleven – and don’t forget the half – I’m thinking it’s time to get her involved. There’s the old school way to do laundry, but now thanks to a new regimen of Gain products, available at Walmart, we’ll be doing it the new school way.

Teach kids to do the laundry – the new school way

I know, I know. Kids don’t necessarily want to be in on the chores. This especially goes during summer break, so I’ve included a fun printable that helps keep K motivated when she’s with us and it will help teach kids how to do the laundry. You can snag it below. And stay tuned – I’ll let you know how to score some free sample products and coupons, too!

Let’s Do the Laundry!

Alright, you’re in the laundry aisle and there a gazillion products to choose from. Powders, liquids, pods, scent boosters, fabric softeners and dryer sheets…it’s enough to make your head spin. So, how do you choose? Simple: Go with what works and with what’s easy! When I was in 8th grade one of my classmates did a science project on laundry detergent. She (well, her parents) bought just about every brand under the sun to see which was best. Gain was the clear winner. Now they’re doing it the new school way.

This way…

Gain  Flings

With detergent, Oxi Boost and Febreze freshness all-in-one just toss a Gain Fling into the washer drum before you add the laundry. It doesn’t matter if it’s top load or front load, standard or high-efficiency machine, just toss that baby in. That’s awesome for us as we travel in the RV. It doesn’t matter where we end up, we don’t have to worry about our Flings not being compatible with the laundry machines. There’s no measuring or pouring and they’ll dissolve at any temperature, so don’t be afraid to have the kiddos save you some cash and extend the life of your clothes by using the cold water setting.

Gain Fireworks Scent Booster

If you love that signature Gain scent, you’re going to love their Fireworks Scent Booster! It’s safe with any fabric and any color. You just pour some into the cap. Use a little. Use a lot. You can’t mess up. They complement the Flings perfectly. Just fill up the cap and pour ’em in with the Fling to deodorize and freshen your clothes all day long.

Gain Fabric Softener

Sometimes you want that fresh-tastically soft feel, and Gain Fabric Softener is going to get that for you. Nights in the camper snuggled under a blanket that smells amazing and is too soft for words? Sign us all up, please! Just fill the cap up to the appropriate line and add it to your washing machine’s dispenser before you start the load.

Gain Dryer Sheets

One thing K and I both struggle with from time to time is static. BLAH. Well buh-bye, static. Thank you, Gain Dryer Sheets! They’re the perfect finish to the laundry. Just toss one in every time you dry and if you have a really large load, use two sheets. Did I mention they prevent wrinkles, too? Score!

Here’s a checklist we use. Each morning during the summer K gets up and looks at it, then checks each item off the list. She feels accomplished and we’re glad to know we’re continuing to teach her about responsibility.
