Cinnamon Apple Pork Chops with Mashed Potatoes & Baby Food (sort of)
Hi everyone! Today I’m super excited to give you a new glimpse into some wonderful news I shared a few weeks ago. Thanks to The Women Bloggers and Kendal King Group on behalf of our client, I also get to share a couple of unique recipes using Gerber Baby Food! Now you might be wondering what cinnamon apple pork chops and mashed potatoes have to do with baby food, but first, let’s get back to that news…
Before I met and married the hubs if you told me I’d have baby food in my house someday, I would have told you that you were pretty crazy. NO WAY, José! Of course, life happens when you’re making other plans (and the universe laughs, then you laugh at yourself). For those who don’t know, ladies and gents I am going to be a bonus grandmother NEXT MONTH! Meet peanut:

We are beyond excited around here and suffice it to say, all things baby are on our brains. And that means baby food, too. Now it’s safe to say peanut won’t be partaking right upon arrival into the world, but thanks again to The Women Bloggers on behalf of their client Gerber, we decided to have some fun taste testing flavors and textures that will be discovered soon enough! I mean we want to make sure we know what baby is eating, right? 😉 A little Gerber baby right here in our midst?! EEEK! Did I mention how beyond excited we are?
Cooking with Gerber
Yep. I really did make dinner using baby food. It was fast, easy and DELISH. Be sure to grab the printable recipe cards below (just click the images for full-size). Oh – and there’s a giveaway, too. I’ll get to that…
Cinnamon Apple Pork Chops
In our house I don’t even have to ask if anyone wants pork chops. It is one of those ‘go-to’ meals that I know will please everyone. So when I received a variety of Gerber baby food products I knew cinnamon apple pork chops were the way to go – especially when I read the ingredients label on their apples. It says this: apples and water. That’s it. Apples and water. Awesome sauce! No pun intended 😉 .
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Of course, you can’t have pork chops without mashed potatoes and I did a spin on the Scottish version called Skirlie Mash using garlic instead of onions. Adding Gerber Multigrain cereal with Vitablocks adds a blend of Vitamins C and E, iron, zinc, B Vitamins and one that’s really important for me to improve on – calcium!
It goes without saying everything was gobbled up! I can’t wait to cook with the peaches, next. 🙂
