Welcome to my ‘hood! If you would told me five years ago that I’d ever live about two minutes from a scene like this, I would have told you, you lied like a rug. Alas, it’s real! Welcome to what Country Life, City Wife is all about, guys. As you can see,we are pretty rural and a lot of the roads in my neck of the woods look like this-they’re dirt: FRAM Air Filters
Country Life City Wife
When you move from the city to the country, your husband – a country guy, through and through – may decide to take you on dates that involve the following situations:
Yes, that is totally us digging for night crawlers aka, big fat, red worms that the hubs uses as bait for fishing. As you can see from the expression on my face, I was THRILLED.
Don’t worry, he also takes me to places like this where he used to spend a lot of time as a kid. Of course, it takes some more dirt roads to get there, but it’s totally worth the bumpy ride and the dust to get this serenity:
It’s fun (and dirty) times getting to explore a whole new world. In the city, we’d have to drive a bit to get to nature. Now, it’s quite literally in our backyard. See? We have a family of deer that live on our land. Pretty cool if I do say so myself.
Of course, all of this means keeping an eye on our car maintenance is different, too. The city wasn’t quite as…dusty and there were a lot less bugs. So we have to keep on top of air filter maintenance since the rural environment we’re in subjects our vehicles to “dirtier” conditions which can damage the car’s engine. The air filter is like your car’s first line of defense improving air flow. This not only helps keep the dirt out, it also gives you the added bonus of increased acceleration and horsepower while improving the car’s overall engine performance.
Now, when it comes to car maintenance I’m what you’d probably label as clueless. When I heard that FRAM air filters only took about five minutes to change out, I figured my husband could do it easily; he knows his way around a car. But me? HAHA! Yeah right. Except – yeah!! RIGHT! I did it, guys! So check this out:
Just dip down to your local Walmart and head to the Auto Care Center. You can’t miss the Air Filters section. There’s a handy dandy selector unit; you just plug in your car’s info and in all those FRAM air filters you see – it will tell you the exact one you need. Of course, if you’re more of an online shopper you can just check them out here.
FRAM AIR FILTERS AND FIVE MINUTES
Once you get your FRAM air filter home it really does take less than five minutes to change out. All I needed was a screwdriver. It was actually kind of fun to get under the hood with the hubs and I enjoyed him teaching me something that I’d be able to keep up on my own.
So summer is coming and you all know we love our road trips. In addition to buying FRAM air filters, we go through a basic checklist to make sure the car is in condition to hit the road. Of course, a professional can identify any underlying issues and should be consulted when it doubt. If you’d like a copy of our checklist, feel free to grab it here:
You’ve seen how easy it is for even yours truly to change out an air filter thanks to FRAM air filters’ easy instructions (and the hubs’ encouragement). Check out FRAM online and, of course, I want to know – where are you road tripping this summer?
Safest to travels to all!
