Spa Alana – Facial Review

Skincare by Alana is a website I’ve long known about. What I didn’t know is they also provide day spa services! The hubs and I take the motorcycle up to Orange County to have lunch every so often and when I found out I could actually stop in, I jumped at the chance to have a long overdue facial.

The facility is located in an office park in a gorgeous area of Dana Point. Because of traffic from San Diego, I arrived thirty minutes late and was greeted cheerfully by Linnsey who was as sweet about it as could be.

After consulting with me on my skin concerns, she took me into a large, quiet and peaceful treatment room then left to allow me to put on a wrap. Note: It is very important you let your aesthetician know of any allergies you have. I am allergic to aspirin and Linnsey was going to give me a cinnamon mask, but changed things up because one of the ingredients shares the same chemical make-up as aspirin and could have caused an adverse reaction! She knows her stuff! In fact, all Skincare by Alana staff are highly trained. You don’t want to leave your skin in just anyone’s hands!

The room temperature was perfect. I think I just about melted onto the treatment table. Then Linnsey got to work!

I was steamed, cleansed, exfoliated and massaged – with special attention to my neck and décolletage area. Linnsey went through each step beforehand and allowed me to just relax so I didn’t feel like I had to carry on a conversation.

When it came time for the micro derm I was expecting it to be uncomfortable. The last time I had it, it actually hurt. Well, I felt no discomfort at all! When it came time for extractions they weren’t the greatest thing in the world, haha, but they also weren’t awful. We finished up with a pumpkin mask that smelled so good I wanted to eat it! It really calmed my skin.

When we were done I was afraid my skin would look red and blotchy because of the extractions, but it didn’t at all! In fact, I never had any redness and I had no breakouts following the facial.

Was it worth the drive and navigating through traffic to get to Orange County from San Diego for an hour and a half facial? Oh most definitely! And I will definitely go back, soon.

If you’re in the area be sure to make an appointment to stop in, and before you go check out all of Skincare by Alana’s Day Spa Services on their website by clicking here. You’ll see why it’s Spaaaaaah Alana! And tell them I said ‘hi’ while you’re at it!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
