Let’s Talk Tea: Matcha DNA™ Tea Review + Giveaway!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

If you know me, you know I love tea. I previously wrote that there is something so special about tea; the way it’s cultivated, the aroma, the process in which you brew and steep it. The very way you sip tea. It is meaningful. I have been a tea aficionado for years and when I had the chance to try something new and different, I took it!

If you are new to tea or a hardcore loose-tea purist, Matcha DNA™ tea may be branching out for you. This is a powder form, and dates back to ancient Chinese and Japanese ceremonies. Don’t you worry, this is not the fake, processed “stuff”. It is hand-picked and organically grown. It’s full of anti-oxidants, not radiated and instead of drinking ten cups of green tea, you can drink just one of the Matcha DNA™!

I was excited to try it when it came in. Here’s the verdict:

The tea arrives in a generous 10 ounce (oz) vacuum-sealed pouch:

There are several recipes and you can find them on their website at MatchaGreenTea.com. I went the traditional route and decided to add just a touch of Mexican vanilla. I usually don’t do this, but upon tasting the tea, I would venture to report it tasted a little like clove. I thought the Mexican vanilla complemented it very nicely. I would note that you really need to whisk the tea well to make sure it dissolves fully – and warm the cup with hot water first (then pour it out) as per the instructions! This will also help the tea dissolve.
I will definitely check out the recipes, too. The Japanese Tiramisu has caught my eye!  If you’re more of a latte person they’ve got you covered, too!

I’ve been a bit under the weather, and while I’m not a medical doctor and cannot one-hundred percent confirm that the tea has helped me fight off my ailment, I am feeling MUCH BETTER after drinking two to three cups over the course of three days:
