Operation 1950’s Hot Housewife – Checklist
I owe such a mega update in here! After my decision to relax last Sunday, I ended up doing the laundry and sheets along with some other light cleaning. I think allowing myself to decompress for awhile really helped. I am learning I don’t have to be go, go, go from the minute I wake up until the hubs gets back from base.
I’ll get caught up on recipes and the like, but for now I’m just really happy that we took the weekend easy and went riding Saturday and Sunday. The weather was beyond perfect.
Saturday we got up and I baked blueberry muffins and steeped some tea. The hubs had coffee. We got ready and headed out for a ride through Julian, CA – a town famous for its apples – and ended at an orchard where we had a BBQ with other riders. The ride was to benefit a school that helps high risk kids; something near and dear to my heart. I really hope they raised a lot of money!

These apples weren’t quite ripe yet. I wanted to pick so badly, but the ripe ones were already harvested. |

Not a bad place to spend a day. |
I picked up a butternut squash and a cactus fruit for Doc and then we headed back downtown. We ordered dinner in, had great night and then got up early for a ride Southeast with our riding club this morning. Old Highway 94 is an awesome stretch of road in San Diego. We enjoyed the ride so much we forgot to take pictures! I will have to post some after the club photographer puts them on the website. The scenery was just so damn awesome.
After stopping at Cafe 94 out in Potrero with the group, we rode home through Otay Lakes, got back, took Walter out, then walked over to the Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase in the Gaslamp. I had been looking forward to it for months. I was disappointed there were only two classic Mustangs (a lot less than last year), but I love just about all classic cars, muscle cars and most especially the old Shelby Cobras. Just look at that beauty:

Someday… |
In a week, my travel starts back up so I will be attempting to stay ultra organized. For the week coming up, here’s the plan. I forgot to add grocery shopping and that will take place tomorrow:
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Can’t believe tomorrow is Monday already!
